Huber Heights – The Warrior Soccer Club, located in Huber Heights, Ohio is sending seventeen teams to the fifth annual Veterans Invitational Tournament (VIT) held in Evansville, Indiana on November 10-12. The Warrior teams range in age from U10 to U17. This is the largest number of Warrior teams that has ever attended the same tournament event.
“The Warrior Club has been a nurturing mentor to the VIT through the years,” says Debbie Tucker, co-director of the VIT. According to Tucker, the Warrior Club, which hosts a Memorial Day tournament in Dayton each year, are “the wiser, more experienced ‘sibling’ who has advised us on everything from marketing and delivery issues to tournament administration and media crises.”
The Evansville Elite, the club that hosts the VIT, has also sent teams to the adidas Warrior Soccer Classic (WSC) each year. Carol Maas, the tournament co-director for the WSC says, “We’re thrilled to have this relationship with Elite. The VIT is a good way for the younger kids to end their Fall season and for the older kids to start up their post-high school play. And, the Elite sends some pretty competetive teams to the Classic.”
Other clubs from the Miami Valley area that are competing in the VIT are Metro FC, NUSA, Ohio Galaxies, Middletown United and Springfield Thunder.
All the game action, including scores and standings in real time, can be found on the VIT web site at www.veteransinvitational.com.
