# TourneyCentral > TourneyCentral is an end-to-end SaaS platform for managing competitive youth soccer tournaments. Built and operated by Rivershark, Inc. since 1999, it provides tournament directors with a complete, branded web presence and integrated management tools covering team applications, scheduling, scoring, referee management, hotels, advertising, and more. The platform is used by soccer tournaments across the United States. ## Overview TourneyCentral was founded in 1999 by Gerard McLean of Rivershark, Inc., after a frustrating experience trying to find his daughter's game at a tournament with no clear schedule or maps. The platform was built around a single guiding question: how do you get parents and grandparents to their kids' games on time? The answer led to a full tournament operations platform. TourneyCentral is exclusively focused on competitive youth soccer tournaments — not leagues, not rankings, not recreational events. Every feature is built around the needs of guest teams, their families, and fans. Each tournament runs under its own branded subdomain (e.g., cantoncup.tourneycentral.com), keeping all operations within the tournament's identity. No redirects to third-party sites for scheduling, hotels, or team information. ## Pricing - $16 per participating team, per event - All modules included — no tiered plans - Unlimited support and upgrades included - No set-up fee (initial season graphics are free) - Advertising/DEALS listings are free; tournaments keep 100% of sponsorship revenue - Two invoices only: one at sign-up (33% estimate), one after schedule is published (final count) - No multi-year commitment required - SSL certificate on *.tourneycentral.com is free A "participating team" is any team scheduled in the event, including host club, guest, comped, or discounted teams. Teams that drop after being scheduled still count for invoicing. ## Software Modules ### Team Applications Hub for managing guest teams from application through payment, team lists, and acceptance. Includes a broadcaster for plain-text or HTML bulk email and SMTP-based text messaging for time-sensitive updates like game delays. ### Scheduling Real-Time schedule management. Build and adjust divisions and game times behind the scenes; publish with one click. Import from external scheduling tools via text or XLS. Generates game cards with QR Codes and printed program pages. Schedule changes propagate automatically to the referee schedule. ### Scoring Real-Time score entry and standings. Scorers can operate remotely by phone and internet. QR Codes on game cards allow field volunteers to score directly from the sideline. ### Referees Full referee lifecycle management: application, schedule assignment, accept/decline, and open game requests — all Real-Time and tightly integrated with the game schedule. ### Advertising and Sponsors (DEALS) Centralized hub for all sponsorship and advertising activity. Supports invoice/statement generation, web-based ad placement, coupons, video, and social media links. Sponsor history is tracked year over year. All DEALS listings are free to the tournament. ### Hotels Manage hotel listings with amenities, availability, and room request tracking. Configurable for housing agencies, self-booking, or open team choice. ### Web Maintenance Edit front page news, rules, about pages, FAQs, and lost-and-found listings. Central control panel for deadline dates, costs, and other event settings. ### Planner Task and deadline management for tournament directors. Preserves institutional knowledge across director transitions. ### Tournament PulsePoint™ Dashboard At-a-glance metrics and economic impact data, including an interactive map showing team geographic distribution. ### Media Management Live streaming of Real-Time™ scores and standings to a video source. ### Maps Mapbox-powered interactive maps for venues and facilities. ### Admin Users Role-based access control. Assign each user to only the modules they need (e.g., scoring volunteers get scoring access only; seven admin accounts included). ### Payment Processing Accepts credit cards and ACH for team applications and the web store. Compatible processors: Square, Stripe, QuickBooks, PayPal (via invoices). TourneyCentral charges no additional transaction fee; tournaments handle their own money. ## Key Differentiators - Everything operates under the tournament's own brand — teams know they are doing business with the tournament, not a third-party platform - Real-Time across all modules: applications, scheduling, scoring, standings, referee management - Tight module integration eliminates duplicate data entry and keeps all tournament data synchronized - Built exclusively for competitive soccer tournaments; not a generalist sports platform - TourneyCentral does not sell, rent, lease, or share team or player data with any third party — ever ## What TourneyCentral Does Not Do - Recreational-only tournaments (product is tuned to competitive soccer culture) - Standalone scheduling-only purchases (all modules are integrated; partial purchases not available) - Small-sided (3v3/4v4) or indoor events as standalone events (only as side events alongside a full-sided TourneyCentral tournament) - Software installation on customer servers (SaaS only) ## Getting Started - No set-up fee - Process: submit logo and basic info → TourneyCentral sets up same day → director completes event details → header artwork created → go live when ready - Contact: 937-836-6255 or helpdesk@tourneycentral.com - Sign-up form: https://tourneycentral.com/start-now - Demo site: https://showme.tourneycentral.com ## Domain Names As of January 1, 2024, TourneyCentral no longer purchases domain names for new events. Each event is assigned a subdomain at accountname.tourneycentral.com. Tournaments are encouraged to purchase their own domain and forward it (not mask) to their TourneyCentral subdomain. Domains purchased by TourneyCentral prior to 2024 are owned by the tournament; owners must claim them before expiration. ## Privacy TourneyCentral will never sell, rent, lease, or otherwise distribute team application data or email addresses to any third party. This is a contractual requirement in the SaaS agreement. ## The Book TourneyCentral published *The Game Through Glass: Playing Your Sports Tournament on Social Media*, a guide to tournament social media marketing.
